After lambasting Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati for not utilising Central funds in the drought-hit areas of Bundelkhand, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Rahul Gandhi is now focusing on educating his own party leaders about the significant schemes announced by the Centre. Rahul has chalked out a series of workshops and training camps for the party workers in this regard. “He wants to educate the party leaders about the schemes launched by the Centre. They can help in checking corruption while the schemes are being executed at the grassroots or district level,” said state Congress spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh.Two such training camps were held at Amethi in November 2007. Rahul Gandhi was present there, joined by sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadhera.The next training camp — scheduled to take place in Sultanpur — will be held in February.
