BANGALORE, February 27: The Karnataka High Court on Friday ordered a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged kickbacks in the setting up of the Rs 4200 crore coal-based power plant by Cogentrix Engineering at Mangalore.A Division Bench of Chief Justice Ram Prakash Sethi and Justice V Gopal Gowda directed the State Government to get ``a FIR registered with the CBI under the provisions of Delhi Special Police Establishment Act for various cognizable offences without naming any person or group of persons as accused''.The court order came on a PIL seeking a joint probe by the CAG ED and the CBI into the alleged payment of bribes amounting to ``whole or part of Hong Kong $ 191 million'' between 1994-96 to set up 1000 MW power project.Stating that the allegations and the facts noted by the court in the case shall be made the basis of recording the FIR, the bench directed the CBI to complete investigation within from the date of registration of the FIR.
