The CBI will be chargesheeting a former official of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) for giving out certain details in a book, which alleges corruption in the country's external intelligence agency, in ‘violation’ the Official Secrets Act.According to the sources in Union Home Ministry, the CBI has sent the complaint (chargesheet) about Maj Gen (retd) V K Singh, who wrote the book, to the ministry for vetting and once received back, it would be submitted before the designated court.CBI had booked 63-year-old Singh under section five of Officials Secrets Act (wrongful communication of information) in September, 2007, three months after his book on alleged corruption in the RAW had hit the stands.Singh was on deputation from the army to RAW from 2000 till his retirement in 2004 and had written the book India's External Intelligence: Secrets of RAW.The CBI is backing its chargesheet with statements from RAW officials stating that the information used by Singh in his book were of classified nature but has no other documents to suggest it, the sources said.
