PATNA, June 10: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today raided the residence of Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav's private secretary Mukul Kapoor and that of six bureaucrats, including five senior IAS officers and Deputy Commissioner, Income Tax, in connection with the fodder scam.The five IAS officers who were raided today are: retired Finance Commissioner Phool Chand Singh; State Animal Husbandry Secretary Beck Julius; Commissioner, Science and Technology, Mahesh Prasad; Labour Secretary K Arumugam and former Animal Husbandry Commissioner Ram Raj Ram.Until late tonight, Singh, Julius, Prasad and Arumagam were detained for interrogation according to CBI sources. The CBI also raided the premises of A C Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Income-Tax. Choudhary was detained in Calcutta.Sources in the CBI said that the raids, launched early this morning, were conducted by the agency's teams from Dhanbad, Ranchi and Patna. Agency sources said the CBI found several documents, cash certificates and fixed deposit receipts. Mukul Kapoor, who has been absconding, is said to have been a major beneficiary of the scam.The CBI is said to have recovered several FDRs from the residence of Raj Ram and allegedly forged supply orders from Julius. Also raided was the residence of Sajal Chakrabarty, managing director of Patna Industrial Development Authority. Chakrabarty could not be traced.A senior CBI official said that under the operation, all the accused in fodder scam case no RC 20 will be arrested within the next couple of days.Today their target was the IAS officers and officials attached to the Chief Secretariat.Incidentally, some of the officials on whose premises the CBI has conducted raids do not figure in RC 20.
