MUMBAI, SEPT 19: Catholic Gymkhana pipped GMSC 3-2 in the WIFA Division I football league, today. Russell Campos, Jennio Fialno and Jimmy George scored for the winners. Anthony D8217;Souza and Vinayak Gawde accounted for the losers.

Holy Family, Chakala, beat Naval Dockyard 1-0 in the MDFA Harwood Section A football league match at the St Xavier8217;s ground, Parel, today. Francis D8217;Costa scored the match-winner in the very second minute.

Gajant Laxmi defeated Bandra Packers B 3-0 inthe Division II tie. Pascal Naik, Eddie Cabral and Caesar Fernandes were the goal-getters. In the Division III-B game, Wadia Baug beat BKM 1-0. Farhan Dubash scored the winner.

Neil nets all four

Four goals in a row by Neil D8217;Costa featured CST Road, Vidyanagari Marg, Red and Blue8217;s 4-1 rout of Big Village Matharwar in the inaugural Kalina football league, conducted by Our Lady of Egypt Church Sports Committee, at the St Mary8217;s High School ground, Kalina, today.

Kelly Pimenta netted the consolation goal for the losers at the fag end of the match.

Under dogs Big Village Bhat Green stunned Indian Airlines 2-1. Brubeck Dias and Colin Davis netted for the winners and Karan Sawand reduced the margin.Air-India registered their third straight triumph.

The Indian Education Society will conduct their first Inter-School carrom and chess tournaments between 11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on September 21 and 22, at the BN Vaidya Hall, Raja Shivaji Vidya Sankul, Hindu Colony, Dadar, Mumbai 400 014. The finals will be held at 3.00 p.m. on September 22. Former National carrom champion Arun Deshpande will be the Chief Guest.

The Junior Inter-Collegiate badminton tournament will be held at the Kalidas Gymkhana, Mulund West from September 21.

The Ryan International Sportsclub is organising its 3rd Ryan Open Road Race on October 3 from St Lawrence High School Complex, Sector 16-A, Vashi, Navi Mumbai. It is being held under the auspices of the Thane District Amateur Athletic Association and is open in the age group of 12, 14, 16 amp; Open.
