CHANDIGARH, Aug 12: The city police have registered two separate cases of cheating and forgery including one on the basis of a complaint by a US national.
Mohinder Kaur Gill, a resident of Phoenix, Arizona, in USA, has complained to the police that Balraj Singh, a resident of Jalandhar, and Gurinder Singh Takhar, a resident of Arizona, forged a cash receipt worth over Rs 28,000 and used it as “evidence in an ongoing case in the Superior Court of Arizona.”
The woman has also alleged that there was a threat to her life and that she be provided security on her visit to India. The police have registered a case.
Meanwhile, Harpreet Singh Aulakh, a resident of Phase 10, in S. A. S. Nagar, in his complaint to the police, has charged Manohar Singh, a resident of Bhambi village, in Gurdaspur district, and four others, of depriving him of his ancestral property share after they “managed to procure a General Power of Attorney.”
The police have registered a case of cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy.
