NEW DELHI, February 16: A case has been registered against the Janata Dal (JD) Vidhan Sabha candidate from Gonda, Rajkumar Bhati, for reportedly tearing up ballot papers during polling today. The incident allegedly occurred at the booth at Navjivan Adarsh Public School in Jaiprakash Nagar where Bhati and two other persons, Mahesh and Mahervan, tore up 38 ballot papers. Though a case has been registered against them, the three have not been arrested yet.

In another incident, 22-year-old Mohammad Sharif was arrested for casting a false vote in polling station number 80 in Laxminagar. A case has been registered against him at the Shakarpur police station.
