Car bomb kills 6, injures 14 in Baghdad

Iraqi police and medical officials say a car bomb in northern Baghdad has killed six people and injured 14 others, including three policemen.

Iraqi police and medical officials say a car bomb in northern Baghdad has killed six people and injured 14 others, including three policemen.

The officials say today’s bombing occurred in the Shiite area of Shaab and the injured were taken to al-Kindi hospital.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to talk to the media.

The Supreme Court Monday issued notice on a plea seeking an independent and expeditious investigation into the June 12, 2025, crash of an Air India Boeing Dreamliner in Ahmedabad, which killed 260 people. The bench also termed as “unfortunate” media reports which indicated that “pilot error” was to blame for the crash, purportedly quoting some preliminary findings by the AAIB.
