Call for promoting literature for children

BANGALORE, April 13: Dr Sa Shi Marulaiah, President of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, has called for promoting children’s literature. Presiding over a meeting on children’s literature, organised by the Parishat, he said the genre had been neglected in recent years, as a result of which there was a paucity of writers of children’s books in the State. Praising the contributions of G P Rajaratnam and B V Karanth, he said books for children should set out moral values in attractive ways, so that children could appriciate and develop a taste for books.
