After 12 days in captivity, Prashant Jain, a trader of Patna, was released today. Almost simultaneously, a school student Nirmalendu Prakash Diwakar was abducted by armed men here. Jain was released by his captors near the Mahatma Gandhi Setu, on the outskirts. None of the top police officers were aware about the incident till the youth reached home. The Chief Minister himself disclosed to the media during a routine meeting with his party workers.
Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy and son of a former Director of the Bihar Animal Husbandry Department and Fodder Scam-accused was kidnapped on way to school. Nirmalendu, class IX student of the Don Bosco Public School, was forced at gun point to alight his car and kidnapped.
According to eyewitnesses, the kidnapers, numbering around five, intercepted the car near his residence. Senior Superintendent of Police Kundan Krishnan said that a hunt had been launched to nab the kidnappers.
