Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) General Manager R.P.S. Panwar, arrested yesterday on charges of disproportionate assets, was remanded to three days CBI custody today. Panwar was arrested on charges of corruption and possession of assets worth more than Rs 2 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income.Special Judge Prem Kumar remanded Panwar, presently posted at Muzaffarnagar, to the investigating agency’s custody till Sepetmeber 22 after they requested for five days police custody. In his order, Kumar said custodial interrogation was required to help the CBI unearth the conspiracy.Panwar along with his wife and sons own at least 24 properties worth more than Rs 1 crore, including two flats and three shops in Indirapuram in Ghaziabad and two plots in Haridwar, said the CBI in the remand application.
