MUMBAI, April 14: BSES defeated Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers by two wickets and regained the Kakasaheb Diwadkar Memorial cricket trophy after a gap of four years.
In a keenly contested final at the Subhash Maidan, Kalyan, RCF won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 178 for 8 in the allotted 45 overs. Opener Yogesh Patil (30), Sandip Dahad (35) and Sahas Mayerkar (30) were the principal run-getters.
In reply, BSES endured some anxious moments before scoring the requisite runs for a victory. They scored 175 for the loss of 8 wickets in 44.3 overs. Sushant Manjrekar (35), Prashant Keer (45) and Vivek Patil (30) were the main run-getters for the winners.
