The 26-year-old won the match after three hard-fought sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. In the semi-final, Bopanna will run into Mikhail Ledovskikh of Russia. The Indian is in the fray for clinching the doubles crown as well, as he and his partner Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan recorded an upset victory over top seeds Frank Moser and Orest Tereshchuk in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (4).
