PUNE, July 18: Booty estimated to be worth over Rs 45,000 was stolen in two separate thefts in various parts of the city since Friday.
Madhukar Shankar Tarawade (45) of Mitramandal Colony has lodged a complaint with Bund Garden police stating that an unidentified man stole his briefcase containing Rs 20,000 in cash and a cellular phone on Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road on Friday.
Tarawade was starting his car parked along the road when the con man diverted his attention by stating that he had dropped money accidentally and stole the briefcase, police said.
Jewelry estimated to be worth over Rs 16,000 was stolen from the Nakoda Jewelers shop which was found burgled at Gokhale Nagar on Saturday morning.The shop owner, Santosh Madanlal Oswal, has lodged a complaint with the Chatushrungi police stating that the burglars forced entry inside the shop after breaking open its locks.
