NEW DELHI, July 15: Eight teams including holder Salgaocar (Goa) runners-up East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Dempo (Goa) have been directly seeded into the pre-quarter final rounds of the 3rd Kalyani Black Label Football Cup carrying Rs 50 lakh prize money starting from August 8. Other four teams given the direct seeding into the last 16 are Churchill Brothers (Goa), Mohammedan Sporting (Calcutta), Border Security Force (BSF) and ITI (Bangalore).The zonal qualifying rounds in which 40 teams will take part are scheduled to began from July 17 and from this eight teams will make it to the pre quarterfinals.Talking to newspersons here today All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Priyaranjan Das Munshi said that prize money for this edition of the Kalyani Black Label Cup has been raised by Rs 12.50 lakhs.This year the winners will receive Rs 20 lakh as against Rs 15 lakhs last year. The runners up will get Rs 15 lakhs (last year Rs 10 lakhs). The third place is to receive Rs 10 lakhs (last year Rs7.50 lakhs) and for the fourth place there is no change in prize money and it remains at Rs five lakh.He said Chandigarh (North Zone), Nagpur (West), Cuttack (Orissa), Shillong (North East) and Kerala (South)) will be hosting the qualifying rounds.The AIFF chief said the pre-quarter final matches of the main draw will be played at Calcutta, Cochin, Goa, Guwahati, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad on August 19 and 20.The quarterfinals will be played on August 24 and 25th and are slated at Calcutta, Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. Calcutta and Bangalore are the venues for the semis to be played on August 29th and 30th. Calcutta will host the match for the 3rd place on September 5 and the final on September 6.
