Bombs used in the series of blasts in Bangalore appeared to be ‘professionally assembled’ and police were looking at all angles, including involvement of any foreign hand, the Karnataka police chief said on Saturday.
Following a detailed examination of remnants of the explosives found on Friday, the investigation team now ‘feels that the bombs were professionally assembled’, Director General of Police Srikumar said.
“More clues have also been gathered from the unexploded device recovered today,” he said.
The blasts, which occurred at nine locations in the city yesterday, left two persons dead and 12 injured.
“We have several leads and are trying to examine each of them,” Srikumar said, while replying to a question about the possibility of banned SIMI behind the attacks.
On whether the police suspected any foreign hand, he said, “without any concrete evidence, I cannot affirm anything as of now but we are probing all angles”.
Police have not yet detained any persons in connection with the blasts, he said, adding ‘we have asked the public to come forward and share information on any suspicious objects or persons who appear to be moving about in a suspicious manner’.
Orders had been issued throughout the state, directing the police to be on a constant vigil.
