A Delhi court on Monday fixed March 15 for fresh framing of charges against the Hinduja brothers and the Swedish gun company AB Bofors in the Bofors deal case.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Reena Singh Nag also asked the CBI to file a status report on the extradition of Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi. She also asked the CBI about the measures taken to freeze his bank accounts.
The Europe-based Hinduja brothers — Gopichand, Srichand and Prakash — will be charged for offences like criminal conspiracy and corruption.
Also, Bofors, which supplied the Howitzer Field 155 mm guns, will be charged for fabricating documents under section 465 of the IPC as per the earlier High Court order. The High Court had earlier upheld the charges against the Hinduja brothers and the gun company. At the same time, the Court had also quashed all charges against former PM Rajiv Gandhi.
