CHANDIGARH, Oct 29: Critising former Union minister Harmohan Dhawan for threatening an agitation if the name of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi is not deleted from the Bofors’ chargesheet, former BJP member of Parliament Satya Pal Jain accused him of not having "faith in the courts, judicial process as well as the investigating agencies".

In a press statement issued here today, Jain said law always took its own course and "did not depend upon the personal desires of any individual or party". He said if a dead person can be elected to the Lok Sabha (as in the case of Rajiv Gandhi from Amethi in 1991), why can a dead man not be named in the CBI chargesheet. It was unfortunate that certain Congress leaders were trying to make a primarily legal issue "to be an issue of political wranglings", Jain added.
