Boat capsizes on Saryu river, 10 die

Ten people, including four children, drowned when a boat ferrying 15 members of a family capsized on Saryu river in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

Ten people, including four children, drowned when a boat ferrying 15 members of a family capsized on Saryu river in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

Two women were also among the victims, who were on way to Gonda district to see their ailing relative, District Magistrate Anil Garg said.

He said five of the 15 people managed to swim ashore.

The incident occurred near Jansar Ghat in Faizabad.
