CHENNAI, JULY 17: A two-year-old boy born with a heart on the right side was saved by a unique surgery at the state-of-the-art Harvey Heart Hospitals here and is now on recovering. Faizal, on whom Dr M P Naresh Kumar and his team of cardiologists performed the unique operation called “total cavo pulmonary connection”, was born with a heart on right side, a condition called `detrocardia’. The main blood vessels leading out from the heart were also transposed with severe narrowing of the artery to the lung. This led to reduced blood flow, rendering the boy, a `blue baby’.
