BANGALORE, Nov 30: Five Bangalore-based scientists have bagged the presitigious B M Birla Science prizes. Dr Sundaram Thangavelu, Professor the City-based Indian Statistical Institute got the prize for his contribution in mathematics, Dr Sriram Ramaswamy, assiociate professor at the Indian Institute of Science bagged the prize for his contribution in the subject of Soft Condensed Matter Physics, Dr Jayant B Udagaonkar, Associate Professor at the National Centr for Biological Sciences got the prise for biology, Dr Goutam Kumar Lahiri and Dr Sambasivarao Khotha of IIT, Mumbai bagged the prize for chemistry.
