A day before senior BJP leaders meet in Gandhinagar to review the recent electoral setback, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, the farmers’ wing of the Sangh Parivar, has asked the party leadership to dismiss CM Narendra Modi.

Holding Modi’s autocratic style of functioning responsible for the poll debacle, BKS general secretary Maganbhai Patel said: ‘‘The Chief Minister has lost the time to resign on moral grounds and the BJP should honour the feelings of farmers and public by removing Modi.’’

Meanwhile, there were reports that Modi has offered to resign saying he wants to avoid embarrassing the party in case the Congress moves to impose President’s Rule in Gujarat. However, former Union minister Kashiram Rana denied it. —ENS
