BJP has conveyed its concern to China over its strategic ties with Pakistan in the wake of Islamabad’s attempt to seek Beijing’s financial and technical support in building two nuclear power plants.
According to media reports, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf sought China’s help as the US has rejected Pakistan’s bid for a civilian nuclear deal. The BJP conveyed its feelings during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Zhen Qingdian at the party office here. According to a BJP release, party president Rajnath Singh described Pakistan as an ‘‘acknowledged hub of pan-Islamic terrorism.’’
Singh, the release said, also drew the Chinese envoy’s attention to anti-India activities being carried out from the Bangladeshi soil in the context of Beijing’s ‘‘strategic alliance’’ with Dhaka.
