BJP will retain MP, no anti-incumbency exists: Rajnath

A week before the elections in MP, BJP president Rajnath Singh claimed that his party will retain power as the anti-incumbency did not persist.

A week ahead of the assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, BJP national president Rajnath Singh claimed on Friday that his party will retain power as the anti-incumbency did not persist in the state.

“BJP will retain power and there was no anti-incumbency against the ruling party in MP,” Singh told reporters in Ratlam.

Showering praises on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, he said the people in the state were happy with the development works carried out by him.

About the Lok Sabha polls, the BJP president said that his party has already started the selection process to nominate its candidates for Parliament elections next year.

“We will complete the candidate selection much earlier than Congress before the Parliament polls are announced,” he said.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the BJP will get majority in Parliament elections and senior party leader L K Advani will be the next Prime Minister, Singh said.

The NDA will capture power at the Centre as the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government had failed on all counts, particularly price rise, he added.
