In a major setback to the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, its senior vice-president and pro-Jammu voice Hari Om quit the party and joined the Congress on Sunday, hours before the first phase of polls in the state. “I have joined Congress and I will serve it with dedication and honesty. Congress is the only party which can keep the state of Jammu and Kashmir and fight the powers bent on disintegration of the state,” Om told reporters here. Pradesh Congress Committee president Saifuddin Soz announced the joining of the BJP ideologue, who was in the forefront of the Amarnath row, into the party.
