PUNE, NOV 18: A three day meeting of the State executive committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which gets underway in the city from Friday, will take stock of the present political situation in Maharashtra and chalk out the party’s future course of action.
Party spokesperson Prakash Jawdekar told media persons that it would be the first meeting of the executive committee after the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Jawdekar said a separate resolution on the State’s financial position would be passed at the meeting since the “Democratic Front Government was misleading people” on the issue.
Jawdekar urged State finance minister Jayant Patil “not to defame” the previous alliance Government. He pointed out that the State revenue had increased by Rs 2,000 crore every year while a 54 per cent hike in the State income was recorded when the BJP-Sena Government was in power.
Some 300 delegates, including district unit presidents, general secretaries, MLAs and MPs, would participate in thedeliberations. Union Ministers Pramod Mahajan, Ram Naik, Jaywantiben Mehta and former deputy CM Gopinath Munde would attend. Union Ministers would also be felicitated at the meet.
