NEW DELHI, SEPT 26: The BJP's national executive meeting here on October 1 will discuss the ``attacks'' by CPI(M) cadre on political opponents. This was decided after BJP chief Bangaru Laxman today told party office-bearers at an informal discussion that what he saw during his recent visit to West Bengal was ``horrible''.Party spokesman M. Venkaiah Naidu told mediapersons today that the party chief felt the issue should be discussed at length during the national executive meeting and the party's West Bengal unit has been asked to prepare a comprehensive report on political killings.Laxman said that the CPI(M)'s political opponents in West Bengal were not only attacked but ``butchered''. They had been rendered homeless and were being discriminated against by authorities at relief camps. The state machinery, he said, was supporting the CPI(M) cadre. The people of West Bengal were of the view that only Central intervention could save them from oppression and suppression by CPI(M) workers, Bangaru is believed to have told party leaders, adding that almost all the victims belonged to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and minority communities. CPI(M) workers had hired murderers from neighbouring Bihar, Bangaru is believed to have told party leaders.
