Giving an overview of the UPA government’s achievements while addressing a select group of party workers and front ranking leaders, Singh said his government in the last three years by all accounts had done ‘pretty’ well.

India’s economy is growing over 9 per cent in the first three years, which is the highest rate of growth since Independence, he said.

Investments and savings have touched a growth rate of 35 per cent, he said, pointing out that the world has recognized India as one of the fastest growing economies. “It is a privilege to preside over this progress of economy,” he said.
