With the Hindu Jagran Manch, a local outfit floated by RSS activists at Dhar, having already done the requisite spadework to bring the Bhojshala dispute into focus, the BJP is set to make it an electoral issue in Madhya Pradesh.
However, before taking the plunge at the Indore national executive meeting, slated for April 4-5, the party has decided to examine the issue.
BJP chief M. Venkaiah Naidu has constituted a three-member team. The team that comprises BJP chief whip in Rajya Sabha S.S. Ahluwalia, National Youth Commission chairman and Rajya Sabha member Balbir Punj, party national secretary S.S. Chauhan, is expected to leave for Dhar by March 31 to talk to the government, Archeological Survey of India officials as well as Hindu Jagran Manch activists.
With Assembly polls near, the BJP seems all set to use the communal divide over the Bhojshala dispute to polarise the electorate. With the Congress in power in the four states going to polls later this year — MP, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Delhi — the BJP hopes that the anti-incumbency factor would work against the state.
