NEW DELHI, Dec 21: Keeping its upward momentum, the annual rate of inflation increased by 0.11 percentage points to cross the four per cent mark to touch 4.07 for the week ended Decembeer 6.Inflation, based on wholesale price index , rose to 4.07 per cent from 3.96 per cent in the previous week but was much lower than the 7.15 per cent during the corresponding week last year.The index for ``all commodities'' (base 1981-82=100) also rose by 0.4 per cent during the week to 332.4 (provisional) as against 331.0 (P) For the previous week. The rise in the last couple of weeks have reversed a falling trend in annual rate of inflation when it fell by nearly one percentage point.Meanwhile, according to the latest figures available, inflation based on the final index shot up to 4.7 per cent for the week ended October 11, compared to 4.3 per cent in the previous week and 4.1 for the corresponding week based on provisional index.Ramakrishna Mission AGMMUMBAI: The Ramakrishna Mission undertook extensive relief and rehabilitation work at a cost of Rs 49.36 lakh in several parts of India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh benefiting more than 3.50 lakh people, during 1996-97. The mission's assistance to the poor, students, old and sick, totalled Rs 1.27 crore and expenditure for tribal and rural development programmes Rs 6.25 crore. This was disclosed at the eighth annual general meeting of the Ramakrishna Mission held at Calcutta recently.
