DSP Merrill MF corpus above Rs 500 cr
As on March 31, 1999, DSP ML Mutual Fund comprising of DSP ML Bond Fund, DSP ML Equity Fund and DSP ML Liquidity fund has mobilised Rs 516 crore. While the Bond Fund has a net asset base of Rs 460, the corpus of the Equity Fund and Liquidity Fund stood at Rs 46 crore and Rs 10 crore respectively. Said Hemendra Kothari, chairman, DSP Merrill Lynch Asset Management Company, 8220;although major grwoth in the past has been witnessed by debt funds, equity funds will now be considered more favourably following the proposed tax sops offered in the recent budget. We plan to grow our asset base by another Rs 1,000 crore during the current fiscal year.quot;

ABB-BHEL bags Rs 50 cr order
MUMBAI: ABB-BHEL consortium has won the Rs 50 crore order for the construction on a turnkey basis the 400/220 kv Jallandhar sub-station from Power Grind Corporation of India Ltd against stiff competition from BSES, Larsen, IRCON-Techno, Alstrom, UB Engineering and Jyoti-Telk. ABB is the lead partner in the consortium.

SWC inducts Komal Chhabria into board
CALCUTTA: Shaw Wallace amp; Co Ltd on Thursday announced the induction of Komal ChhabriaWazir on its board as executive director for corporate affairs, which forms part of a reshuffle of responsibilities at the board level.
According to a release, Shaw Wallace has formed six strategic groups to concentrate in corporate and business related matters. The groups are corporate affairs, corporate finance, legal and information technology group, liquor group, beer group, non-core business group and international business development group.
The release said the decisions were taken earlier this week at a board meeting in Dubai, the base of Shaw Wallace promoter and chairman Manu R Chhabria.
