In a dramatic development in judo coach Biranchi Das murder case, the police on Monday arrested two persons, including the mother of prime accused Sandeep Acharya alias Raja even as miscreants hurled a crude bomb at the Bhubaneswar club here.

The police arrested Jubuli Sundaray, owner of an album studio, who had earlier allegedly trespassed into Raja’s house and issued threats to the gangster’s younger brother’s wife, they said.

According to DCP H K Lal, the police arrested the gangster’s mother and owner of the album studio on the basis of an FIR and counter-FIR filed at two police stations in the city.

Sources said Sundaray, brother of a senior IAS officer, three days ago had lodged a complaint at Saheed Nagar police station that Nalini Acharya threatened him with dire consequences, if he did not withdraw case against Raja.

Sundaray, who had filed case against Raja was provided security in the wake of threat call from the gangster.
