The Women’s Reservation Bill will now be referred to a Parliamentary Standing Committee which does not have a single woman as its member. The Standing Committee on Law and Justice, chaired by Congress MP E M Sudarsana Natchiappan, has 16 MPs from Lok Sabha and 8 from Rajya Sabha but not a single woman MP despite seven vacant seats.
