Alleged gangster Vijay Kumar Shukla alias Munna Shukla won from Lalgunj, defeating Veena Devi of RJD.

At Rupauli in Purnea, s elf-styled commander of North Bihar Liberation Army, Shankar Singh, defeated Beema Bharati, wife of sitting MLA Awadesh Mandal, a murder accused in jail.
