Four minor grand daughters of Bihar Revenue Minister Ramai Ram have been reported missing with cash and ornaments worth several lakhs, following which a case of suspected kidnapping has been lodged.

Police here suspect that the ministers grand-daughters have fled with a boy — a native of Biharsharif and a classmate of one the girls who studies in a Mussourie school.

The police said on Sunday that the girls’ father Vijay Kumar lodged an FIR with the Sachivalaya police station late last night after the family failed to locate them, Deputy Superintendent of Police Arshad Zam said.

According to the FIR, the four daughters of Vijay Kumar and the minister’s daughter, MLC Geeta Devi, had gone for shopping at Boring Road area. The boy, a former student of Don Bosco School, had accompanied them.

Police sources said the parents of the girls had earlier complained to the Don Bosco School authorities about the boy.

They asked the driver to wait outside and went inside a market complex. When they did not return for a long time, the driver went inside the market complex and after failing to locate them informed the family members.

Zama said the police were conducting raids to locate the missing girls. Both the minister and his daughter were unavailable for comments.
