Bihar for handing over Beur jail to Central forces

Realising the bottlenecks in checking large-scale inflow of mobile phones and other banned items, Bihar has sent a proposal to the Centre to hand over security of the high-security Beur jail to Central forces.

Detection of cell phones, cigarettes, ganja and luxury items like TV and videos from the possession of jail inmates in frequent raids has made us realise that there has been some loophole in the security, Minister of State for Jails Ashok Chaudhary said here today. That was the ground to request for handin g over the security of the jail to central forces like CISF or CRPF, he said.
