new Delhi: State-run engineering major Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd on Wednesday reported a 62.45 per cent jump in net profit during the fourth quarter of 2005-06 at Rs 868 crore as against Rs 534.3 crore in the corresponding period of previous fiscal.

Net sales rose 26 per cent to Rs 6070.6 crore in the quarter ending March 31 compared to Rs 4814.4 crore in January-March 2004-05, Bhel said in a release.The board of directors also approved a final dividend of 20 per cent for 2005-06, taking the total dividend in the year to 145 per cent.

Dr Reddy’s posts Q4 loss, sees yearly profit

MUMBAI: Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd posted a surprise quarterly loss on Wednesday but said it expected its earnings to rise this year, aided by new buys. Despite the unexpected loss, Dr Reddy’s shares, which had lost 6.4 per cent at one point in a falling market, recovered to end 1 per cent down at 1,357.40 rupees after the company said it planned to issue one bonus share for every share held.

Bajaj Electricals Q4 net up 178%

mumbai: Bajaj Electricals Ltd reported a whopping 178 per cent growth in its net profit for the quarter ended March 31 at Rs 13.58 crore as against Rs 4.88 crore in the corresponding period last year. Sales turnover of the company increased to Rs 293 crore in the reported period from Rs 227 crore.
