MUMBAI, AUG 20: India’s Ritwik Bhattacharya shocked second-seeded Vincent Cheung of Hong Kong in four games to enter the under-19 boys’ quarter-finals of the Hong Kong Junior Open Squash Championship along with compatriots Parth Doshi, Rohan Juneja and Amitpal Kohli today.

Bhattacharya, who had drawn a first-round bye, laid low local lad Cheung 9-6, 8-10, 9-2, 9-6 in their second-round clash, according to information available here.

Doshi recovered magnificently from 1-2 down to subdue another Hong Kong player Paul Ng 5-9, 9-4, 7-9, 9-5, 9-3, while Juneja, and Kohli won in straight games against their Malaysian rivals. Juneja ousted Aaron Soyza 9-2, 10-9, 10-9 and Kohli surged past Abdul Adzim 10-8, 9-6, 9-2.

All the three remaining Indian colts in the under-16 boys’ group — Rahul Singh, Bikram Oberoi and Abhijit Kukreja — reached the third round with comfortable second-round wins.

Rahul defeated Hong Kong’s Clive Harris 10-8, 9-4, 9-5, Oberoi stormed past Sri Lankan boy H Goonasena 9-4, 9-1, 9-3 and Kukreja outstroked Aaron Chee of Malaysia 9-4, 9-10, 9-4, 9-2.
