A credit war has started between the political parties, specially the ruling coalition partners — Congress and PDP — in J-K, just before the flagging off of the LoC bus.
Congress has planned to give ‘‘political colour’’ to the rally in Srinagar which will be addressed by PM Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. Though it will be a ‘‘joint rally’’, the J-K Pradesh Congress Committee has asked its district presidents to bring in maximum number of people. PCC chief Peerzada Sayeed has called a meeting in Srinagar on April 6 to prepare the cadre.
Interestingly, while PDP leaders including CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti will also be present in the rally, the party has separate plans for the same. The PDP has planned a rally at Suchetgarh on the same day. ‘‘We will raise the demand for opening of Suchetgarh-Sialkot road,’’ said PDP leader and MLC Ved Mahajan.
Though the PM will return to Delhi the same day, Sonia will stay on till April 8. She is scheduled to inaugurate the cable car project at Gulmarg and will also lay the foundation stone of the south campus of Kashmir University at Srinagar on April 8.
