Becoming elite gets dearer. Lodhi Club hikes membership fee

The executive committee of the Lodhi Club has decided to enhance the membership enrolment fee for all categories with effect from February 1, 2009.

The executive committee of the Lodhi Club has decided to enhance the membership enrolment fee for all categories with effect from February 1, 2009.

The decision was taken in the meeting of the executive committee of the club held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sumer Singh Gurjar, who is the ex-officio president of the club, late last evening.

Under the new rates, the enrolment fee for general category will be enhanced from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh, a corporate member will now have to shell out Rs 6 lakh as against Rs 3.5 lakh, professional category from Rs 50,550 to Rs 1.5 lakh, Class I Government Officers of Centre/ state government from Rs 19,000 to Rs 51,000 and Class I Officers till retirement will have to pay Rs 51,000 as against Rs 9,600.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the executive of the club was making all efforts to upgrade the infrastructure and facilities of the club to the international standards. Under the new plan, a new spa fitted with latest facilities was being added at a cost of around Rs 50 lakh. The restaurant of the club was also being renovated at a cost of Rs 14 lakh. He said that recently the Bar of the club had been renovated at a cost of Rs 22 lakh which resulted in substantially enhancing the attendance of the members in the club. The President appreciating the efforts of the concerned secretaries for ensuring excellent standard of facilities for members in the modernised gymnasium, health club, swimming pool, bar and restaurant by sparing maximum time for this purpose.

Gurjar also appreciated the excellent efforts of Bar Secretary Pawan Kumar Garg for saving around Rs 8.60 lakh by way of exploiting numerous sales promotion schemes of liquor companies during the past one and half years. He added that to give a new look to the club, more new additions for the entertainment of the members and children were being made and more sports competitions for members and dependants will be organised.

Among others who attended the meeting Manoj Gupta, General Secretary, Anand Parkash Sikri, Vice-President, Lalit Singla, Joint Secretary, Darshan Singh, DPRO Executive Member, Nitn Mittal, Treasurer, Rajnish Gupta, Cultural Secretary, Rajesh Mittal, Sports Secretary, Pawan Kumar Garg Bar Secretary, Arvinder Singh Padda Mess Secretary and Kanwaljeet Singh Dang, Executive Member.

Manoj Gupta requested the deputy commissioner to get the Apni Mandi shifted from the front of the club to some other place.
