Be loyal to Malaysia, Thackeray tells ethnic Indians

Bal Thackeray has criticised Malaysians of Indian origin over their protests against alleged discrimination.

Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray has criticised Malaysians of Indian origin over their protests against alleged social and economic discrimination.

“Be loyal to the country where you live. In Rome, be a Roman”, Thackeray said in an interview to Sena mouthpiece Saamana.

“It is not proper for Indians to agitate in Malaysia. This applies to the pro-Pak Muslims in India as well”, he said.

Thackeray reiterated that a permit system be introduced in Mumbai to control influx of migrants.

“I know the Constitution grants freedom to move and settle in any part of the country, but the same Constitution also says that the person should not create any nuisance for the local citizens,” he said.
