Habibul Bashar and Javed Omar combined together to give the opening session of Day One of the first Test to Bangladesh, after Hannan Sarkar was out shouldering arms first ball of the morning to a Pedro Collins inswinger.

On a batting wicket, Bashar and Omar had put together an unbeaten 101 runs at lunch after captain Bashar won the toss.

Bashar did have one stroke of luck when he was dropped on 27 by Dwayne Smith at short leg off Fidel Edwards, but after that there was no looking back for the duo as the four-pacemen West Indies attack was sent on a leather hunt. So much so that the minnows managed to score at a high average of 3.88 runs per over in the 26 morning overs.

BRIEF SCORES

Bangladesh: 101 for 1 (H Bashar 65n.o., J Omar 27n.o.; P Collins 1/34) vs West Indies
