PUNE, Dec 25: Three persons made an unsuccessful attempt to break into the Janseva Bank at Bhosari on Tuesday night. One of the persons who had managed to sneak into the bank has been arrested by the police.

The arrested person who was identified as Madan Jayram Sardar (25), a resident of Jagdale chawl at Dhavade Vasti in Bhosari, and two of his accomplices Vasant Pande, and Ranavade had together made the plan to sneak into the bank. Madan reportedly owed an amount to Pande and Ranavade, who directed him to commit theft at the bank. Accordingly, they asked Madan to hide in the bank premises and and later in the night break the lockers. Pande and Ranavade had agreed to rescue him in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to the police, Madan sneaked in the three storeyed building at Shitole chambers where the bank is located. Later during the night he tried to tamper with the shutter. He however could not reach up to the strong room.
