BANGKOK, Oct 19: Thai sports authorities today voiced confidence the country would be ready for the Asian Games in December despite some glitches encountered in testing facilities last week.Deputy Prime Minister Bhichai Rattakul, who chairs the Bangkok Asian Games organising committee, said he was satisfied with pre-Games tests which finished on Saturday.``It was not bad. We tested all the sports complexes, everything is going fine,'' he told reporters.``But it was not perfect, some things have to be improved, such as facilities for live telecast, information technology, lighting and the sound systems,'' he said.He said he was confident any problems with facilities would be ironed out before the Games which are to be held from December 6 to 20. ``We know all the problems. Things are not totally complete but it will be finished on time.``I am confident the Asian Games will be a success,'' he added.Thailand kicked off a pre-Games test of facilities on Wednesday with a glitzy opening ceremony inpreperation for trials in 11 sporting events.The ceremony was held at Hua Mark Sports Complex where the opening and closing ceremony of the 13th Asian Games will be held. The pre-Games aimed to test the sports facilities, which are newly complete, in addition to the telecommunications, security and traffic control provisions.Preparations for the Games have been plagued by delays in building prejects including all the new sports complexes.
