With the Bangalore international airport project achieving financial closure, work will start on July 2, officials said.

With ICICI Bank agreeing to provide 52.1 per cent of the cost as loan, the project, in all probability, become a reality by April 2008., said Bangalore International Airport Limited (BAIL) Managing Director Albert Brunner.

“The comprehensive state support agreement triggered the execution of all pending project agreements,” he said.

The airport would be a joint venture between Siemens project ventures (40 per cent), Larsen and Toubro (17), Zurich airport (17), government of Karnataka (13) and Centre (13).
