Bangalore, Jan 30: It was a great comeback for Captain Baljeet Kaur of the Army. Returning to competitive shooting after a gap of four years, she won the 10 metres women’s air pistol event in style with ten plus scores in at least four rounds of the ten-round final in the 42nd National Shooting championships at the JNR memorial range, SAI Southern Centre, here Saturday.

Maharashtra bag two gold:

Maharashtra picked up two team gold medals in the junior men and civilian sections of the standard pistol. The trio of Raj Khalid (509), Amol Chouhan (513) and Ronak A Pandit (520) helped Maharashtra reach a total of 1542 in the men’s civilian team event.

The Supreme Court Monday issued notice on a plea seeking an independent and expeditious investigation into the June 12, 2025, crash of an Air India Boeing Dreamliner in Ahmedabad, which killed 260 people. The bench also termed as “unfortunate” media reports which indicated that “pilot error” was to blame for the crash, purportedly quoting some preliminary findings by the AAIB.
