NEW DELHI, January 3: Bal Bhawan (Mayur Vihar, Phase II, Delhi) will take on St Mathews School in the girls final of the CBSE national volleyball tournament being held at Bal Bharati Public School, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Road.

In the semi-finals played today, Bal Bhawan defeated DAV School from Vishakhapatnam 15-11, 13-15, 15-11 while St Mathews defeated Kripal Sagar Academy from Punjab 15-9, 14-16, 15-9. Poonam and Shifa Sharma played well for Bal Bhawan while Manisha of Vizag school gave intelligent placings and thrilling smashes.

P Swetha Padma of St Mathews School and Randeep kaur of Kripal Sagar Academy gave good account of themselves in the other semi-final.

In the boys section, D A V Vshakhapatnam will take on Guru Gobind Singh School (Bokaro) in the final tomorrow. In the semi-finals, the Vizag school beat St John’s School 15-2, 15-7 while the Bokaro boys defeated Shah Satnamji School from Sirsa 15-4, 15-1. The finals are slated for 11 am on Monday at the school courts.

Boys: DAV (Vishakhapatnam) bt St John’s School 15-2, 15-7; Guru Gobind Singh School (Bokaro) bt Shah Satnamji (Sirsa) 15-4, 15-1.
Girls: Bal Bhawan bt DAV (Vishakhapatnam) 15-11, 13-15, 15-11; St Mathews School bt Kripal Sagar Academy 15-9, 14-16, 15-9.
