CHANDIGARH, Feb 26: Kuldeep Singh, sarpanchwas cross-examined today in the court of UT District and Sessions Judge B.S. Bedi in the case pertaining to the December 1, 1996 murder of an ex-MLA, Bachittar Singh. who was allegedly killed by four youths, namely Jugraj Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Juljeet Singh and Inderpreet Singh, who were booked under Sections 302/34 IPC and Section 25 of the Arms Act.

Earlier, he had stated that on December 4, 1996, Jugraj Singh had told him that Bachittar Singh’s son had killed his uncle and that he would take revenge. On the day of occurrence, four youths followed Bachittar Singh’s jeep and shot at him near Landran village. Today, he stated that he had appeared as a prosecution witness in a case related to the murder of one Mohtam Singh. He said he did not remember whether his evidence was disbelieved.
