A group of sadhus and activists of an outfit today made an unsuccessful attempt to dig the graves of the five militants killed in the recent Ayodhya attack, protesting against their presence close to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex.
The sadhus belonged to the Poorvanchal Rajya Sangharsh Samiti.
Demanding the shifting of the graves from within the Chaudah Kosi Parikrama area of the temple town, the sadhus marched towards the graveyard in Tar ki Takia and then began digging the graves but senior officials along with security personnel foiled their bid.
The activists also shouted slogans against BJP president L K Advani and Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and later submitted a memorandum to the authorities.
