AHMEDABAD, APRIL 9: A person had died a natural death at Seblia village in Khedbrahma taluka of Sabarkantha district and not due to starvation as reported in a section of media, district authorities have said.

Dilipbhai Gamar had died a natural death on April 6 and was suffering from lung disease, said an official release here. A post-mortem has revealed that Dilipbhai was suffering from lung complications and the autopsy found that he had died a natural death at 11.30 am on April 6 due to this while working as a relief worker near a lake in the village, it said.

The Principal Secretary in the Revenue Department K C Mahaptra, alongwith district collector, district development officer and chief district medical officer and other senior officials had personally visited the spot where Dilipbhai had died to get to the truth of the matter.

The information gathered by them and the subsequent postmortem of the body rebuts reports that Dilipbhai had died due to starvation, the release added.
